What is now an internationally active company for extraction and filtration technology began with a simple idea: to make industrial workplaces cleaner and safer.

Since its founding in 1977, KEMPER has been developing solutions for clean air in industry. From a first prototype created in a garage, a company has developed over decades that supplies technologies worldwide for safe and efficient production environments.

Our history is characterised by technological progress, continuous development and the ambition to sustainably improve industrial workplaces.

Everything began with an idea from Gerd Kemper. In his garage, he developed a system for extracting welding fumes directly at the point of origin – a solution that addressed a central problem at many industrial workplaces at the time.

The first prototype laid the foundation for a company specialising in efficiently capturing and filtering emissions in industry.

From the original idea, a growing company quickly developed. The first production-ready extraction units were created and were used in more and more businesses.

KEMPER established itself as a provider of solutions for welding fume extraction and continuously built up expertise in the field of industrial extraction technology.

With increasing demand, the company’s international presence also grew. KEMPER entered new markets and established sales structures outside Germany.

At the same time, the technologies were further developed to meet the growing requirements of modern industrial workplaces.

With the increasing automation of industrial production processes, new requirements for extraction and filtration systems also emerged.

KEMPER developed more powerful systems and solutions for complex production environments, including systems for automated welding processes and industrial production lines.

Today, KEMPER stands for innovative technologies for capturing and filtering industrial emissions. Our solutions are used worldwide to make workplaces safer and to sustainably support production processes.

What began with an idea in a garage is today an internationally active company – with the same goal as at the beginning: clean air for industry.
